Community Outreach

We provide gifts to underprivileged children of veterans and meals to needy families during the holidays. We provide funds to the Special Olympics, South Houston Community Center, needy school children in the area, Jaycees of Clear Lake, the USO at Ellington and the Shriners. Our American Legion Riders group provides funds for battered women and money to the Legacy Fund (scholarships to children of military personnel killed in action since 9-11). We provide meeting space for community related activities.

Our Veterans and You

Each month we provide food and haircut coupons to our veterans at the VA Hospital. We host 25 to 30 VA patients at our monthly Steak Dinners. We donate time and funds to the VA volunteer services. We participate in the Annual BBQ Cook-Off at the VA Hospital which feeds hundreds of patients and staff. The Auxiliary sends Care Packages to our troops overseas. The Auxiliary provides housewarming baskets to veterans who are transitioning into their first apartments. We assist veterans in emergency situations and help them obtain services at the VA. We host special events for Ellington military personnel. Our Service Officer provides valuable information on veteran benefits and Houston military events. We have several special events honoring our veterans such as Memorial Day Services, Four Chaplains Services, 4th of July events, Veterans Day, and Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremonies.
